Outdoor Education for All is excited to introduce our new team member, Sarah Peterson Young. Sarah is a middle school English and History teacher, who is passionate about getting her students “out of the box”, believing that nature really is the best teacher. She joins Outdoor Education for All as a staff writer, combining her love of writing with her love of the outdoors. Through her writing Sarah strives to educate others about the geographic region and cultural history of Butte County.

I’m so excited to join OEFA! As content writer for the team I get to combine my love of writing with my passion for outdoor recreation, education, and the geographic and cultural history of the Ridge.
— Sarah Peterson Young

Born and raised in Paradise, she will be highlighting some of the outdoor recreation gems in her hometown. Through her unique lens as a mother, teacher, and outdoor advocate, she will be sharing the beauty of these places as well as ways we can keep these places pristine for generations to come. Sarah will also be covering ways in which Paradise can rebuild and recover from the Camp Fire by investing in the children and the abundant natural resources of The Ridge.

If you or someone you know would like to get involved with OEFA, welcome Sarah to our team, or offer comments and ideas for stories on The Ridge, please contact Sarah at spetey7@gmail.com
